As Christians, we have the lifelong objective of growing up in Christ and using the people and resources available. As you guys know, we focus on helping believers all around the world grow in Christ. If you Google Christian churches, you will find hundreds and hundreds of them around your area. If you Google sermons online, you will find hundreds of thousands of them available to you. If you go on Amazon or any bookstore, you will find hundreds of thousands of Christian books available for you to read in just one click. Many of us attend church and listen to sermons on Sunday mornings, many of us attend Sunday school or Bible studies, and many of us also read Christian books that focus on one or a couple of related topics. The problem with books, in my opinion, is that they are at least a hundred or a hundred and fifty pages long, and they usually focus on one topic for the reader to learn about. If we’re going to be honest about reading books, we can say that we don’t need to read 150 pages about prayer to understand what the Bible says about prayer. Many books are full of fluff, people’s experiences, opinions, and a lot of unimportant things that fill up the blank pages so that the author can finish it and sell it. It’s hard to grow in Christ when it takes so long to read about one topic you want to learn about.
When it comes to listening to sermons, we also run into a problem in growing in Christ personally at a fast pace. We will listen to an hour-long message on YouTube or at church and usually only learn about one topic of scripture. Now, this is good, don’t get me wrong. (Check out our online sermons that are geared to help Christians grow in Christ through the truth of scripture.) However, the problem is that you have to wait until next Sunday to learn about another important topic of scripture that will help you grow in Christ. I believe that Christians need daily accessible content that teaches them scriptural truth simply and clearly. If we have access to writings that God wants Christians to learn and renew their minds with daily, and it only takes a few minutes to read each blog, we will grow in Christ very quickly.
If we use Christian blogs as a resource to learn about God and his ways, then we will grow and mature in our understanding without having to wait until the next book release or Sunday sermon. We are able to learn about critical scriptural topics just by reading a faith-based blog. I believe that this is so big for us today because I know that Christians didn’t have access to this fantastic resource just a few years ago.
If we are going to be honest about how Christians live their lives today in 2021, we have to talk about our Mobile smartphones. Every person that I know spends a lot of time on their phone every day. Throughout the day, Christians are either texting someone, scrolling through social media, watching videos, listening to music, shopping, or taking pictures on their phone. There is no reason why we have so many Christians today who admit that they don’t understand specific topics that were written to Christians in the New Testament. There is no reason why we have so many Christians today that admit to not spending consistent time growing in Christ and being renewed in their minds. We spent hours on our phones, but we don’t use our phones to access what will help us grow in Christ and understand the word of God better than before.
I love Christian blogs because we can access them through our computers, tablets, and phones for free anytime and anywhere. Even if you only have time to read after work when everybody in your house is sleeping, and the lights are off. You can still quickly grab your phone while lying down on your bed and read a Christian blog without having to turn the lights on and disturb your loved one who may be sleeping in your room. I think this is big news for the Christian Community. Let’s start using Christian blogs today. The more technology advances in our modern-day, the fewer excuses we have to not know what the Bible says, to not learn from other Christian leaders, to not start a conversation with other Christians worldwide about biblical topics.
Christian blogs such as this one allow you to submit comments and to start a conversation with other believers who have read the same blog. I think that this is a great way to dialogue about the word of God and to sharpen each other at any time of the day. This is Major; Christians, we must use this excellent online resource that helps us grow in Christ every day. Even if blogs weren’t free, I would still be writing about the need to use them in our Christian spiritual growth because they are so helpful. It only takes a few minutes to read a blog. You don’t have to go to the bookstore, you don’t have to wait for Amazon to ship the book, you don’t have to subscribe, you don’t have to pay, you don’t have to turn the light on, you don’t even have to read ten pages about why somebody wrote the book and who they dedicated it to. You can just read about one Biblical topic and learn about it at your own pace.
I love to read books, but I also know that because of time restrictions, I am not able to read all the books that I want to read. However, I don’t let that stop me from reading scriptural content that helps me understand God’s word better. I can spend as little as 5 minutes reading a blog post about a Biblical topic that will help me grow in my relationship with God. Some of us spend 2 hours or more cooking, working out, and watching TV every day, but we still ask for prayer for us to understand the Bible better. You can ask 1 million Christians to pray for you to learn the word of God, but it is not going to happen until you start using your eyes to read the Bible on your own. We must take ownership of our journey in Christ and use our time wisely to renew our minds with the word of God.
I want to strongly recommend and urge that you start reading Christian blogs as soon as possible so that you can grow and mature as a Christian believer. Let me know how this goes and what blogs help you in your Christian walk as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Blessings, I can’t wait to hear about your growth!
