The ministry of prayer warrior and intercessor is not found in the Bible as a gift of the Spirit to the Church.

Many Christians today (especially those who have claimed these titles as their calling and gifts of the Spirit) will have a big problem with this statement. However, as you guys should know by now, this ministry and its leader, Nick Acosta, are not aiming to be like modern Christians and ministries. We are aiming to teach the body of Christ what the words of Christ actually teach. It is not important at all for us to please modern Christians and have them agree with us. The goal of all of our Christian writings and Christian videos is to help you understand true biblical Christian teaching in order for you to grow in Christ.

There are a lot of Christian websites, Bible study websites, and Christian blogs that attempt to help the body of Christ see things scripturally. The problem is that many of these are full of modern Christian ideas and concepts that are not found in the Bible. These are quotes, teachings, and “Christianese” that some old preacher or book author came up with long ago, and their fans and followers kept the beliefs going for decades and even centuries. I believe that in order to lead people to Christian growth and do real Christian discipleship online, we must stick to the teaching of God in scripture.

With all of that said, let’s begin looking at the gifts of the Spirit that are mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12.

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:4-11, 27-31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Now let’s look at the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are mentioned in 1 Corinthians 14.

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching? Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord. So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:1-2, 6, 13, 37, 39‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Lastly, let’s read about the ministry/church gifts that are given to the body of Christ to serve God and each other with according to Romans 12.

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:3-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

After reading all of these passages, do you see anything in there about praying for the world, praying for your Christian brothers, or praying for your pastor? I don’t see prayer, intercessory prayer, or the title of “prayer warrior” or “prophetic prayer soldier” (lol) as a gift or ministry of God through the Holy Spirit in Christ. Before you get the wrong idea, I do see that we are supposed to pray for ourselves, each other, the government, God’s will, ministry opportunities, safety, provision, protection from evil, the forgiveness of sins and other things. I am aware that we are told to pray without ceasing (stopping). We are commanded to pray for ALL people. The question I have for you is this: WHO IS SUPPOSED TO PRAY FOR ALL PEOPLE? Is it those who feel “called” to a ministry of intercessory prayer only? NO! EVERY CHRISTIAN IS COMMANDED BY GOD TO PRAY FOR OTHERS AND TO PRAY OFTEN!!

Everyone should be praying for one another, it’s not a “ministry calling”.

I hope that you think about what I’m saying according to the ministries, Christian calling (only one), and gifts of the Spirit that are mentioned in the teachings of Jesus and letters of His Apostles. Throw away what the TV prophet taught you and stick to what’s written in the Word. At the end of the day, biblically speaking, prayer is all Christians’ responsibility!

The calling or ministry of “prayer warrior” and “intercessor” is not in the Bible!
